Navid Ghorbanpour

Shihan Navid is a multi-time national and international martial arts champion and the head instructor of World Top Martial Arts in Burnaby, serving Vancouver, Coquitlam, and the Lower Mainland. His teaching blends precision, intensity, and a calm expectation that every student can improve.

His karate background includes a 6th Degree Black Belt in Shotokan Karate, trained under Shihan Mohammad Bahrami, and a Black Belt in Kyokushin Karate, trained under Shihan Ali Nahrani, a direct student of Kyokushin founder Mas Oyama.

He is a certified full-instructor in the philosophy and science of Jeet Kune Do, with training under Jamen Zacharias and Dan Inosanto, a direct student of Bruce Lee’s the founder of JKD’.

He is also a certified instructor in Kickboxing and Edged & Impact Weapons, with deep experience in the Grappling Arts. Students learn how the disciplines connect: stand-up, ground work, weapons awareness, and practical self-defence taught as one system for sharper technique, stronger health, and better judgement.

Sensei Mayumi teaches kids karate with calm structure, clear expectations, and patient correction. Students build stance, movement, etiquette, focus, confidence, and respect one class at a time.

Her karate background includes a 4th Degree Black Belt in Shotokan Karate, trained under Shihan Mohammad Bahrami. She brings traditional standards into a children’s class environment that feels clear, supportive, and steady.

Mayumi’s classes support children who need clear instruction, repetition, and a positive path from first class to visible progress.

WTMA is built around Jinsei Do: the process of creating a well-rounded martial artist. Traditional martial arts are combined with modern fighting fundamentals — stand-up, ground work, weapons awareness, and the judgement to adapt.
